2. Preliminary thoughts
Then you can start thinking about your goals and motivations. Here are some examples of initial questions:
- How many members do you think you can gather? Survey those around you, your circles of friends, etc. Bring together a few people to follow you in this project.
- In which locations do you want to establish yourself? Is there a possibility to rent a gym?
3. Constitutive assembly
After laying the first foundations, it is time to organize a constituent assembly. First of all, you must start by writing the statutes. This step may seem daunting, but it allows you to clearly lay the foundations of your club. You can write the statutes yourself from A to Z, or use the document below to make things easier:
Once this is done, you can invite the members of your future club. Initially, there must be at least 2 of you. Clearly indicate the date, time and location, and communicate well in advance so that everyone is present. The constituent assembly is a joyful and festive event! It’s the start of a great adventure; of your adventure. However, it is important to organize it quite strictly. To do this, it is necessary to establish a clear and precise agenda. Here is a simple example, which you can complete:
Following an agenda allows you to structure the meeting and limit it in time. Keeping a schedule is important to have time to address all the points you want to talk about. Following this meeting, the secretary must draw up minutes. This must contain the names of all the founding members, as well as the results of the various votes: committee members, contributions, club name, etc.
4. Get your dodgeball club recognized
You have created your club. It is now time to make it known to the whole world! Inform the federation of the official creation of your club. This will allow you to join the Federation officially, to benefit from help with communication and to participate in the Swiss championship.
You should also contact the sports department in your city or town. This in order to be known and recognized by the municipality. This point is important, because it can allow you to benefit from assistance, such as rental of sports halls at a lower price.
Do not hesitate to communicate on social networks etc… so that people in your region are aware of the existence of your club.
